The star of my heart

Searching night skies, heavens, the expanse my eyes gazing, scanning hoping to land, upon brightest dazzling intense and clear, of a star to my heart that is brilliantly dear

My life to this moment, traversing oceans, the deepest seas, climbing the highest mountains, crossing desert dunes as I fall to my knees, battling elements, darkening jungles, walking through fires merely for your discovery of the needs

Fairy tales of your beauties heard in whispers, top secrets, rumors aromas in the air, fables of enchantment, legends and myths of a maiden majestic and fair

Your presence escaping, eluding, evasive but, I know you are there, persistence in pursuing, this love flourishing abound will not cease until destiny’s kindled and found

One eternal round, sailing the world, circling the globe, four corners of the Earth, seven seas, five continents, the journeys what are they worth?

To find someone like the kindest friend, a girl next door, who was always looking out for me, all along remaining hidden, out of sight, veiling, a splendor unseen, you were the real treasure, why were you the one I shamelessly ignored

It was through countless ages, dimensions, the future, the present, the past, a misleading focus on a prize, rainbow ends, the Holy Grail blinded by ideals of obtaining the rings of brass, but, alas the quest humbling has reached its end and I have finally found you, the star of my heart at last

Nighttiger

A fortyish native born all American man. Married twice and for the last time. I have four children; Three daughters and one son that are all over the age of eighteen. I also have two grandchildren; one three years old and one nine months old. Inspired by God, tragedy, life's experiences and then a fairy tale love. I never intentionally set out to write poetry, but "She" inspired me. "She" meaning the love of my life. That love is a passion that after thirteen years still grows stronger each and every day. It eventually had to be put into writing. As I wrote poetry to her, she encouraged me to approach other subjects. Doing so brought me to discover that poetry could wash away the bitter tastes of life (suicide, cancer, and divorce) that were still living like demons inside me. So when poetic therapy brought those impish fiends to a stalemate, I began to experiment more. Creating fictional characters and situations within my works. The support of this online community has inspired me even further to continue to hone my writing skills giving the readers the best that I can offer. Thanks to all you out there in Lulu land. more…
