The Sea Is Ever With You

Your Irish eye infallible
 As far as vision goes
 Like emeralds on Spanish galleons
 Down the sea they go

I see you thirst for harbors
 Distant shores and seas
 Average are the mountaintops
 Incomparably

I see the sails in your eyes
 The gossips of the past
The lids to often now sweet one
 Are hanging low half masked

 And oh, your Gallic trophy
The smile the Louvre can say
 Is equal to Mona's'
 In a breathing, living way

 If gaudy jewels could say
What pen or quills can't do
Then pick the lot of them
 Diamonds, gold and rubies too

 Your opal skin -translucent
I swear I see your soul
 But does absence quail you,
 Irrevocably so?

So tell me, I shall see it
 Written and then done
 I shall dredge the Ocean
 For my perfect one

The seas they live to say it
They brim with all of you
 Certain as the waters
 Of immensities blue hue

Your sadness it now courts me
And I shall see you pleased
 If I must entreat Poseidon
 To let the deep release

The joys of all your memories
The joys of what you miss
I shall find it for you
 Wherever hides your bliss.
