The Sea

The arms of the sea raises above my ship as
We sailed through the emerald green.
crashing tides upon the deck swept clean
the bleached stained wood beneath our feet.
Gray skies overhead open her clouds to rain down.
The breath of God blown into my sails, gave
us hope of reaching home.
The bounty of the catch, will reach the bay tonight.
I give thanks to the sea, for she can be kind
or unforgiving. she is the mistress to us all
who tempt her with our call, to sail upon her
crest of emerald green.
