The Robins

All the robins
are grounded
today.
They do not fly
into the
darkening sky,
but bounce
along the ground,
or stay
hunkered down,
not wanting
the rain
to come.

Beaks to breasts,
they huddle,
never swaying
never saying
why they will not fly.
