The remnants

a Kingdom lost in time of old
with walls of crumbling stone,
with dusty thrones engraved with gold
and roses overgrown.

Voices echo through a room,
of long ago a memory,
a house of life is now a tomb,
a place now filled with mystery.

The dust a veil spread over all,
the breath of sadness lain,
reach even to the towers tall,
for ages so remain.

Fragments of a broken dream
lay scattered on the floor,
some pieces still in beauty gleam
but dead forever more.

a Grave of silence in the night
where footprints left behind
a dream which died in glowing light
now lay there to remind.

a Tattered curtain hung beside
a windows broken glass
reveal the remnants and the died
of everything that was.
