The Poetic Curse

In your poets twilight
Upside down and reeling
Stage by stage, your journeying
Into the land of feelings

The cornerstone is breaking
Wisdom seems impure
The spirits of your history
Prove they can endure

The hammer of your writing
The sickle of your mind-
Breaks away the silence
That always proved unkind

The patience of misfortune
The prophet in your pen
Takes misgivings' longings
To remind you when-

The plight was your own failure
You courted all their ways
That keeps you in the violence
That words cannot allay.
