The poet in Russia - more than the poet.
In it it is fated to be birth a poets
Only in whom the proud spirit of a citizenship wanders,
To whom the cosiness is not, a rest is not .

The poet in it - an image of the century
And the future an illusive prototype.
The poet brings, without running into a shyness,
Result to everything that was to it.

Whether I will main?A cultures do not suffice...
A fellowing does not promise a prophecies ...
But the spirit of Russia over me soars
And defiantly orders to try.

And, standing on a knees silently ,
Ready and for a death and victory,
I ask submissively the help from you,
A great Russian poets...

Give, Pushkin, me a melodiousness,
Own unchained speech,
Own captivating fate -
As to pranks, by a verb to fire.

Give, Lermontov, a bilious sight,
A poison of own contempt
And a cell of a closed soul,
Where breathes, hidden in a calm,
 The sister of yours unkindness-
Icon lamp of a secret good.

Give, Nekrasov, done appeased my playfulness,
A pain your cuting muse -
At a main entrances and rails
And in an open spaces of a woods and fields.
Give a force of yours unelegance.
Give to me you painful feat,
To go, dragging all Russia,
As barge hauliers go by a rope.

About, give to me, Block, a prophetic fog
And two heeling wings,
That, concealing a eternal riddle,
Through a body a music flew.

Give, Pasternak, a days displacing,
A branches shaming,
A meeting of a smells, shades
With a flour of a centuries,
That a word muttering by a garden,
Blossomed and ripened,
That for ever your candle
In me burnt.

Yesenin, give fortunately a tenderness to me
To a birches and meadows, to a wild beasts and people
And to all to another on the earth,
That we with you so defencelessly love.

Give, Mayakovsky, me
A rocktion,
Violence,
Bass,
Irreconcilability terrible to a geeks,
And that I could,
Through a time do axes,
To tell about it
To a companions-descendants...

Поэт в России - больше, чем поэт
Евгений Евтушенко
Поэт в России - больше, чем поэт.
В ней суждено поэтами рождаться
лишь тем, в ком бродит гордый дух гражданства,
кому уюта нет, покоя нет.

Поэт в ней - образ века своего
и будущего призрачный прообраз.
Поэт подводит, не впадая в робость,
итог всему, что было до него.

Сумею ли? Культуры не хватает...
Нахватанность пророчеств не сулит...
Но дух России надо мной витает
и дерзновенно пробовать велит.

И, на колени тихо становясь,
готовый и для смерти, и победы,
прошу смиренно помощи у вас,
великие российские поэты...

Дай, Пушкин, мне свою певучесть,
свою раскованную речь,
свою пленительную участь -
как бы шаля, глаголом жечь.

Дай, Лермонтов, свой желчный взгляд,
своей презрительности яд
и келью замкнутой души,
где дышит, скрытая в тиши,
недоброты твоей сестра -
лампада тайного добра.

Дай, Некрасов, уняв мою резвость,
боль иссеченной музы твоей -
у парадных подъездов и рельсов
и в просторах лесов и полей.
Дай твоей неизящности силу.
Дай мне подвиг мучительный твой,
чтоб идти, волоча всю Россию,
как бурлаки идут бечевой.

О, дай мне, Блок, туманность вещую
и два кренящихся крыла,
чтобы, тая загадку вечную,
сквозь тело музыка текла.

Дай, Пастернак, смещенье дней,
смущенье веток,
сращенье запахов, теней
с мученьем века,
чтоб слово, садом бормоча,
цвело и зрело,
чтобы вовек твоя свеча
во мне горела.

Есенин, дай на счастье нежность мне
к березкам и лугам, к зверью и людям
и ко всему другому на земле,
что мы с тобой так беззащитно любим.

Дай, Маяковский, мне
глыбастость,
буйство,
бас,
непримиримость грозную к подонкам,
чтоб смог и я,
сквозь время прорубясь,
сказать о нем
товарищам-потомкам...

Чтобы поэт в России песней голосил.
Тем сохраняя дух гражданства
Любви к свободе постоянство.

С уважением и поздравлениями с Днем Всемирной поэзии с Окских берегов Подмосковья России, где до сих пор летает Есенинский серебряный ветер.
