The Poet
You can tell how they feel day to day,
By the words their soul chooses to say.
Telling stories of a trouble heart,
And the path they long to chart.
Sharing their deep love for the Lord,
Leaving the listener never bored.
Lifting up a song for a broken friend,
Finding the words that some how mend.
The humor will always make you smile,
Leaving laughter you can carry a while.
Expressing love and denouncing hate,
Trapped in a world in such a bad state.
Opened hearts with influential fears,
Telling hidden stories of fallen tears.
Lifting spirits from sinking too low,
By sharing truth and things they know.
No kinder spirit will ever lend an ear.
In song or poetry, they are always near.
Bringing us hope both day and night,
May the poet always continue to write.
