waste not a tear on the past
for it obscures your vision
to the rainbows in your future

                                                           O' what purpose lies beneath
                                                           A heart that loves in certitude
                                                           To be torn asunder by fecklessness

                                                           It beats to rise above pettiness

                                                           And stand testament to perseverance
