The Ocean, surfing, sharks and a jellyfish or two

I was a lucky one that day.
I was bumped by a shark.
I bear a tiny scar from a part of my leg that had many scars.
It did not like how I smelled, I guess.
It was October and the beach was clear save us.
I stayed in the water and swam out...
A nasty thing hit me with a stinger -
 Jellyfish.
Had a doctor in our group
He picked the stingers out
carefully And he peed on
the area. I laid on the beach for a
Another hour of so and the sun felt so
Good on my midwestern skin.
My love of music may have
drawn me to that place.
That Jellyfish, that Shark.
That life.
I wish I had stayed.
