The Obedience

The only mistake he made
Like shattering glass flying fast
Into a million pieces like me,
And you would too, if a nest had been made
Inside yourself, as my soul's abode;
I was told to not speak of such things
To abide, keep quiet, and hide the truth,
And you would too because shame shuts your mouth
The first moment he gives you slight pleasure;
Now I digress, my broken nest,
With twigs still strategically twisted
And interwined with fear I find
Deceit, simple as a sparrow;
And you would too, if obedience put you
Laden on your back with his betrayal.
