The Ninth Cloud

Beautiful brilliant starry bulbs
pure light intertwining through
the blackness of a moonless sky
trace wings on my back, you did
gave me reason for flight, tonight

But what's this, now? Wings won't soar?
a hole is punched in this cloud's floor
causing me to slip back down, arms out,
I'm still falling

Traced wings all but temporary tattoos
between two shoulder blades of mine
