The Neverending War

Power and might
That can scar the night
Resting atop a mountain side
Miles away from a cave where people hide
Soaring through the dark skies
Parents filling their children with lies
Looking for a meal
Telling them not to steal
Feasting on innocent cattle
Teaching and learning how to battle
Finally the fateful night had arrived
Wondering how long they had survived
They met at the battle site
And quickly began the fight
They fought for nothing but dreams
Women listening to their children and husbands scream
Losing the battle, they retreated
The dragon was still undefeated
