The Madness Of Poetry In The New World
Saliva drips
from the tongue:
wide open madness,
like screamed wishes
upon stars burning
their last light
towards eyes
that look away,
casual lashes battering
newly acquired imagery:
splitting like pods
of scenes rushing
from scratching thoughts.
Performance skips
prose across poetry's legs
as ripped up grass
shouts greenery,
the mouth ready
to fling dead words
into the fresh grave,
strung up sentences kick
for the last time
while the poem wraps
itself with shrouded vowels.
