The Lake

Elizabeth Hope Ralston

The lake is
Dark and misty
Blue and green
Hard to see through
But beautiful
It could be deep or shallow
Yet I can't tell
As I fall in
I am wrapped in a watery blanket
Cold as ice
I lose my breath
I struggle
Then I feel eerily calm
I am at peace as I sink
Into the depths
You can try
But you cant pull me out
Of the lake of my emotions
