The Ice Queen (Senryu) 575

Maria Shaw

The Ice queen, frozen,
devoid of all emotion
locked her heart away.

Unable to love
no sadness or happiness
she drowned in silence.

Frozen for all time
no feeling, no empathy
none can thaw the ice.

None can set her free
from her pain and misery
no one holds the key.

A cold heart of stone
none can break the barriers
protecting her soul.

Tired of been alone,
in her state of solitude
yet blissfully numb.
