The Human Condition

Suffering is the human condition,
The inevitable mortal coil.
No matter how you cope,
No matter how you toil.
We feel what we feel,
From one extremity to the next.
It's said that Immortals envy us,
Considering us to be blessed.
I used to ponder why?
But now I can see vividly,
They long to understand,
Why we hurt intentionally.
Some convinced it's a burden,
But a gift it seems to me,
For to feel nothing at all,
Gives us no reason to be.
Accept when death is dealt,
Or misfortune comes to call.
It's a beautiful cerebric chaos,
That undoubtedly claims us all.
