The Golden Rule

How can I worship a golden rule ,
When I do not have a shelter ,
A helpless being in solitude ,
The offerings of time are gone ,forgotten
Loaded with promises to yield ,
The language and imagery ,
that long fascinated everybody is numb ,
Now is the time to deliver the promises ,
Now before the streams turn into mud ,
Healing is a term of the past ,
Time to compete for survival ,
When all the roads are blocked ,
War is the refuge and the deal ,
Everybody is deeper in debt ,
The have to have not unseen ,
And on the banquet of the poor ,
It is said :
"Just stay away from my plate "
