The Falcon

A superior being you are compared
To all the smaller birds
You bring fear the others such as
The Robin and the Hummingbird
You fly so swiftly through the sky
The wind beneath your wings
Lifts you up so you can soar
And watch the earth below you
You know you are better than the rest
With so much dignity and grace
Your beak is curved and sharp
You hunt so well
So very fast you catch the birds below
And you know that all would cower
If you told them to
You are the king of your little kingdom
All flee from you
Yet still, you're kind is becoming weak
Shot by guns of man
You're wounds are bad
Some fatal
Yet still others cower before you
The guns are strong and evil
Weapons carried by man
Man is weak so he must
Use something stronger to defend
A gun is strong, yet man is not
The gun is evil and hurting you
A falcon bold and strong
So hopefully some will take pity
And help to save
A species more dignified
Than the man with a gun
Will ever be
