The Distance Between Us

I feel aged beyond description,
quietly wondering to myself what we are now all about,
wondering if your little minds have been conditioned with doubt,
wishing that you could read my thoughts,
later realizing the misery you would suffer with those thoughts,
I wonder if you can feel your kin,
like the telekinesis it seems the animals possess,
how they are sometimes synchronized and raw,
family or enemy the response is immediate,
without hesitation or manipulation,
no fight or flight presentation,
blood is known and felt,
true connection cannot be destroyed,
true love cannot be manipulated or left,
all in time we will be re-united,
and the distance between us will be revealed.

I can't wait to read new and old poetry as well as have the opportunity to hear negative or positive feedback on my own. Ultimately, I aim to add some of my own ingredients to the recipe for human togetherness and understanding. more…
