The Distance Between Us

I feel aged beyond description,
quietly wondering to myself what we are now all about,
wondering if your little minds have been conditioned with doubt,
wishing that you could read my thoughts,
later realizing the misery you would suffer with those thoughts,
I wonder if you can feel your kin,
like the telekinesis it seems the animals possess,
how they are sometimes synchronized and raw,
family or enemy the response is immediate,
without hesitation or manipulation,
no fight or flight presentation,
blood is known and felt,
true connection cannot be destroyed,
true love cannot be manipulated or left,
all in time we will be re-united,
and the distance between us will be revealed.

Ryahn Gillis Claim this poet

Hello world! I am a poet before anything else in life, even as a boy, I would write in a journal deep into the night. I feel poetry is a very simplistic approach to relating to our human counterparts and that is why I have cultivated such an affinity for it.
