The Deaf Shrink

While you spilled your guts out the shrink scrawled a doodle.
He thought you must be nuts
as he probed your noodle.

He sat beyond your head retreating from the plight.
Like a two-way mirror
he watched from out of sight.

Delving deep and dirty you fully bared your soul.
Psychoanalysis
you hoped would make you whole.

There was no interchange while you lay on the couch.
You've rendered all the talk
receiving no avouch.

After fifty minutes he motioned toward the clock.
The hour is over
though you feel future-shock.

Diplomas on the walls state he's adroitly deft.
After countless sessions
of help you are bereft.
