The Daily Practice of Fearless Diving

The diving board is wide awake, bouncing with anticipation
The diver’s body shakes in a helpless weep:
Reality is too high! Demands are too deep!
Tough Time pushes her off – enough procrastination!

The courage and grace of the leap
improve as I’m getting older.
I’ll know I’m ready and composed
enough to die
when I can throw myself from sleep
into Today - backwards with eyes closed
head first no cry.
And no peaking over the shoulder

My poems are a new, unexpected and slighlty disturbing by-product of my therapy. Making them available for people to read and review was the next frightening step, but the feedback and generous words were absolutely amazing - thank you all - so maybe I will continue... :) It is a priviledge to be a part of the community with so much imagination and talent.
