The Curse

Into this night I walk alone
Moving from shadow into light,
From pathway to road I wander
Each day merging into dark night.
Hiding in darkness is my skill
Wanting nothing but to find my prey,
But to quench this burning thirst
I would to their lord god bow and pray.
The more I prowl this cold wicked world
The hunger leads me to a place unknown,
A place that my kind call damnation
While to others it's a place less better known.
Through ignorance they call it a fatal disease
Of compassion it is known as simple death,
For me and my kind the thirst is our curse
And shall never end until our last dying breath.
