The Cry of Havoc

Beyond a careless whisper
 Towards those things unsaid
 Lies an untold story
 With the fallen dead
 Victory makes heroes
Of the righteous and the cruel
 Those whom they have conquered,
 Become those they rule
 Violence makes strange bedfellows
 Out of opposing views
Ethics are for the clean of heart
 War is for the youth
 Both may claim the Cross
 Call on God to bind
 Sing Psalms' jubilations
 While razing others shrines
 Binding rosaries and black phylacteries
 Praying towards the Eastern winds
 They claim their destiny-
 Was to become the hammers
 The sickle and the rod
 And while their prophesying
Yes, they call the name of God
 Others see their glory
In the color of their skin
 Their battle is with anything
 That they see as different
 And all will swift proclaim:
“Our way is in the right,
Our views are for the greater good.
For this, we stand and fight!”
 Blood they say is hallowed
 By a man's last sacrifice
And at the cry of havoc
 We all believe them wise.
