The Beginning of the End

When does the end begin?

A perfect being sees no end

The mysteries continuously unfold

Ceaselessly bringing life and joy

Everywhere a miracle

Something that could not-should not be

But exists like the rock or the tree

Perfect in time – perfect in place

Created from seemingly nothing

But not random-with purpose

Infinite connections  bring life

Beauty into what was lifeless

But at some point the miracle is named

Is isolated from the whole

Its purpose and function defined

That which is not understood ignored

Our eyes no longer see the glow

Once what was amazing is now dead

It is now no more than soil and air

We have severed It from the web

Now we think we know

We quantify this lifeless mass

We pronounce its purpose-its place

Relative to our own self diminished  space
