The Art of Spain

They had this painting in Spain
by one of them guys,
probably Dali--
you know, Miro isn't that good.
But Dali--
like the waters of the next great faith,
it's as if the sun is here to stay.
Spain troubles me, frankly.
Maybe it's the bullfighting:
macho, yes, but not liberal, not us.
Sweden is us,
except for the alcohol in winter.
Yet Spain will be just fine
in grid patterns of olive trees
stretching off to high mountains.
We can film our next movie there,
the one about artificial hope
and a red-headed heroine
who knows how to put roses in a jar.
