That Big Tree

That big tree in the front yard
that has scar's along it's trunk,
it's tears are leaves that fall.
No one comes out to shake
the mighty limbs
that hold the child's interest.
We are not so bold as that tree
to stand against the ravages of time, age and mother nature.
That mighty tree with arms scorched and burned with fire and soothed by the falling rain
Stands uncomplaining
majestic
alone.
