Terror within

Through the stillness my madness grows
My skin electric from toes to nose
And as the clocks, steady, ticks away
I feel a terror within me lay

A burden carried in my mind
A steady uneasyness do I find
Silence broken by a sound at bay

A looming shadow of the unknown
A feeling of being all alone
I realize that I am prey
