Terrible Twos

Abject desperation
Utter frustration
is what unfolds
when I face my two-year old.

My miracle of yesterday
is turning my hair gray
what on earth is going on?
when did a day become so long?

 I remember when she was born
she was my new dawn
my heart wept happy tears
for my little angel was here

Flash forward to today
I'm never getting my way
I have no say
tantrums can't be kept away
the devil is here to stay
and all I can do is pray

please please I plead
let me just survive till she is three.
