Talk Heard Around Any Dinner Table

Now!--relinquish all your torches,
No hand-offs to overt obscenity;
Don't dare defer any idle forces,
To garner accusational indemnity.

Now are the moment's reckoning,
Chin to chin, belly to belt-buckle;
Time to call bluff now impending,
Down to the grit n' bare-knuckle.

Sheer strings on puppet-politicos,
Challenge all the prevailing inertia;
Repaint a Capitol's hallowed walls,
No pass of crisis to future absentia.

This's razor's edge in gallant gleam,
To gut tyranny's slow-bleeding suck;
Lower noose on revelation's scheme,
No more extension passing a buck.

Do it for your children if not yourself,
Can you hand innocence to slavery?
Take that constitution off dusty shelf,
Show posterity meaningful bravery.

Tracy Bollinger

Always liked to write and have written poems periodically over the years. I've never shared them withanyone except for immediate family. Decided to take the plunge and put some out 'there'. But bearwith me, I don't really know what I'm doing. This is therapy of sorts and I hope to let go of the need to rhyme. It's a mental condition. I recently found out my grandmother used to rhyme all herletters to anyone. Go figure. I hope you all enjoy my ranting! I do like what I've seen other's post. more…
