Tackling Shadows

Life full of adversity, controversy, catastrophe

Every moment of pain, sorrow, and grief

Football helps me escape my misery

Sometimes autumn dreams turn into fall nightmares

Never again will my sanctuary turn into my prison

Never again will my escape turn into a trap

I'll give an all out effort to replace an ill comforted life

Play with passion for every fan that ever showed me compassion

Go all out for the little kid who can't

because of physical limitations

Sixty minutes of fun to erase the wall of hurt life has offered me!

Wonderful poem. So touching and I like the way the stanzas balance.

Oh wow! I love this. You speak so lovingly and with such understanding and address the little boy with limitations. Oh, how I understand that. It speaks of someone who has a beloved sport that, for a short while, brings him peace and freedom. I think we all have one thing that gives us that. When we feel like crying we turn to what will allow us to feel normal and good and grateful. Keep up your writing!
