Summer Love

When we were young and new as a learning day
I felt your love as a summer breeze
Caressing me sweetly.

Rising with the sun we sang
Our hearts entwined like living vines
Tracing our future forming.

Across the golden fields we ran
As our love began
Silver as the dawn.

Night-ward we climbed
And fell upon the laughing sea
That gathered us to its' seed,
To be born in the crystal rain.

On hallowed ground we slept
As time so softly crept
And passed us by.

And then, in the star struck sorrow
Of our summer's last embrace
I held your tears
Like diamonds in my hand.
