Summer Daze

D D

The sky moves hastily from blue to gray
as I sit here thinking of what to say
my mood is sullen, just like the clouds
while I avoid the tears, and shout out loud

The trees move within natures' gentle wind
soon, the rain will fall all over again
and the blade of grass I so silently stare
while I wonder if you really do care

And as a Monarch sails so brilliantly about
without a care in the world, or even a doubt
I'd wish I could be just like that, you see
like a butterfly in motion, so tame, so free

I cannot think of a single thing to have
than to be happy and carefree, and to laugh
to have it like it once used to be
In the Summer, in love, just you and me...
