Such a Nice Vein

I admire the vein
along the inside of my arm.
It becomes prominent
when I angle my hand just so
so I can see what they were speaking of
in anatomy class.
It's a nice vein,
slightly blue in color and running
along a choice strip of smooth skin.
Good sense, that vein,
to have claimed such a spot
prime real estate in this temple,
far from the charred lung projects
that intend to rehabilitate without success
