Stuff Of Legend

In the blink of an eye,
The beginning of time,
Just one thing and its energy,
Uniform matter and its properties,
Allowing it to tessellate and combine.
In the blink of an eye,
The stuff of all life,
Still far away from reality for now.
But things are panning out somehow,
The basic forms combining now in stars.

No visible guiding force,
Nothing to taste or see that pulls back the sea,
Moving clouds and inducing gravity,
Yet the workings of a genius creates all of this for us,
Our oxygen and warmth and light,
Our mountain streams and passionate nights,
This universe was a blank page, long ago.

The contents of stars,
The first unit of things in its heart,
Married and joined and renamed,
Numbers change and rules adapt too,
New methods and uses not always the same!
Logic somehow allows,
Logic lets them be new,
And soon,
A web of materials to build with!
A web of potential to speak!
Nature's hands now at work creating something unique!

A bubble of reality,
Existing in its harmony,
Allowing us to feel the things it built by itself.
so where is this reality we walk upon and know?
Where is the way inside for those who come and go?
(Who might want to lend a hand,
When we lose our way).
All of this in turn had to start somewhere,
And you ask for proof that things have a reason why they're here?
