Strange Occurrences

Sitting in front of a display of knowledge
it is 1:00am, being the nightowl that I am
wait...I thought I heard something
suddenly, everything turns black
a moment of silence
pierced by a loud bang
I open the panels to the clear, night sky
still I am like the blind
there is a knock at the door
through the peephole her face illuminates
an angel's face
she smiled at me once on campus
such a comfort to see her again
though I am not scared
soon come flashing lights of red, blue,
and white on aligned pine trees
they flash as strobe lights
like a possible fastdance with death
in awe of these strange occurrences
I exchanged words with an angel
