stiletto echo

the stiletto echo booms keeping time with the tune
the rhythm she creates and the tone she assumes
she hears strumming like softly and her body follows suit
his tender chord she pursues in her effortless shoes
the fingers of her patron rediscover their heat
and the notes begin to sing atop the eversteady beat
so her movement grows wide and it owns the open space
and the fall of the heel defines the feel of the pace
wild, now, strong he strikes over strings stretched taut
and forward she presses showing crescendo in her walk
each crisp, clear note loses itself in the frenzy
and she longs for it to last as in the past was her tendency
but, alas, the denouement of her personal symphony
slows her stroll to a stop, the finale in actuality
still, standing still, she's keeping time with her tune
until she ventures again in her harmonic pursuit
