Standing Alone

A body with a broken heart
A house that's not a home
People talking but not speaking
People looking but not seeing
We stand alone
Trust broken and torn apart
A day with no excitement
People dreaming but not going
People thinking but not knowing
We stand alone
Through my window, I can see
A black silhouette of a tree
Lined with snow instead of leaves
A dead grey sky in the scenery
Crying, calling out to me
We stand alone
A portrait in a dim-lit room
A girl with a sad face
And dark, dark eyes that follow you
And say
"We stand alone"
