Spoon Of Comfort
Finding comfort in the curve of my spoon
Momentary relief brings calories of doom
What flavors will fill my need of the day
Delight I taste until my time to weigh
Chocolate or crunchy, sweet or tart
Next Monday again will my diet start
Childhood bruises healed in mom’s kitchen
First bite of medicine served with wishing
Years of this remedy sits upon my thighs
The little girl I was now lost in this womans eyes
Have you ever tasted comfort from a spoon
Did it bring you comfort or my familiar doom
The battle of taste buds and emotions always fight
Weapon of choice, dark chocolate calling to me tonight
