Spiritual Ladder

Since a young child I kept love in my heart,
Even though the world was against me, I never fell apart,
Until one day I let myself get the best of me,
I would've never guessed that I was my own enemy,
Negativity penetrated deep into my mind,
Because I allowed myself to be too kind,
"Can you help me with this, and help me with that",
"I want to keep taking and never give back",
I don't expect you to give back, but don't take too much,
Because I will not be the one you use as a crutch,
I myself am still climbing my way to the top,
So why do you think for you I will stop?,
I told you before I can offer a helping hand,
But if you want to grab on there is something you must understand,
If you try to pull me I will let go,
Just relax and let's climb slow,
You can plainly see I am a few steps above you,
If you were in my position, I would trust you,
I really do love you friend so I will climb down under you,
Just look straight up, now can you see that's its wonderful?,
You will keep climbing with confidence and strength,
Because the one ahead of me has already climbed the full length,
He will tell you its not the end that we must reach,
Its the journey so enjoy it and please find peace.
