Soul-i-cide

Levy now the shame upon my soul
who in his most ungracious conceit,
has set forth an unreasonable goal
and so arduous an unattainable feat.

Casting this monkey zygote into clay,
an infernal probe into remote realms.
To thrash on the altar of matter's fray,
relaying suffering back to cozy helms.

Aloof in lofty security gathering gem,
all at the expense of my personhood.
Indifferent that I'm dissolving at hem,
expecting it's own growth understood.

Woe to my soul, who in coward reign,
has dared not set foot here total in full.
You garnered only my highest disdain,
I shall bring you only gifts of the fool!

Tracy Bollinger

Always liked to write and have written poems periodically over the years. I've never shared them withanyone except for immediate family. Decided to take the plunge and put some out 'there'. But bearwith me, I don't really know what I'm doing. This is therapy of sorts and I hope to let go of the need to rhyme. It's a mental condition. I recently found out my grandmother used to rhyme all herletters to anyone. Go figure. I hope you all enjoy my ranting! I do like what I've seen other's post. more…
