Solitude

Intense and perplexed, my struggles i face,
in pain, but amazed to learn patience' pace.

How lonely they seem- those days of suspense,
nights pass in a dream of met needs and requests.

Dawn comes in and brings reality's signs-
an old song to sing, with new hope for light.

God, help me to see Thy purpose of trial,
and let me know Thee to make self-denial.

In solitude, time spreads gently its net
to teach a frail mind of healthy restraint.

God's plan is for good, His will i desire,
and long for His truth through the refiner's fire.
