Slip

I don't know why you came
They're chasing you down the lane
As we hide behind the back door
Your eyes greet mine with rage
To which I'll say, slip into your old ways

You can't find piece of mind
When you're running all the time
He said he'd love you better
Burnt words do fuel debate
To which I'll say, slip into your old ways

Though you deny it
I can see the truth
Your mind rejects it
Your soul tries to find the new you
You say you need something to cling to
So I can hang on your words and wait
To which I'll say, slip into your old ways

Though you deny it
I can see the truth
Your mind rejects it
Your soul tries to find the new you
You said you need something to cling to
So you started smoking twenty-a-day
To which I'll say, slip into your old ways
