Skylines and Sunsets

drifting through the sky
in our old sailboat
warmed by the sun - so near!
and dusk's heavy overcoat
/one hand holding on
we were sailing west
the other hand in yours - you
held it best
/I feel the hum of your laugh,
the stretch of your smile,
the blue waves crash
though the ocean is a far mile
below us
/brilliant views unfold
as our heart's enfold
and the perfect sky shifts
to a sunset of gold
