Silent Awareness

My cover is blown…has been for some time
Though I've denied; God, I am so obvious!
And you are so right – I'm sure everyone knows.
And you are so right – My pain always shows.
How to expect another's respect
When they know inside what I try to hide?
So, nothing is said, and on I go
Thinking I'm good because you're not in the know.
That is a lie and, between you and I,
I'm ashamed and to blame, never the same.
So blunt to confront; being it so,
I've found my moment and I'm letting it go.
Now I see your eyes on me.
That's all I need for my soul to bleed
And cleanse the dirt that causes my hurt
Because I won't lose the ones that I choose
To help heal my heart;
To make a new start.
Don't go away.
I want to stay.

Jampoet M

I started writing poetry at the age of eleven as a way to express what I couldn't otherwise. My poetry is my 'therapy' of sorts and helps me communicate my every raw emotion. It's funny how so much creativity roots itself in our misery, almost more so than our happiness. Being it so for me, my poetry has more darkness than light most of the time...sometimes I just want to strike a nerve. more…
