Show me the Way

Can you find another reason,
To say no to me.
I will wait another season,
For blinded eyes to see.
All the world around us,
With fire in the skies,
Crashing down before us,
With pain in our eyes.

Can you show me how to make it,
Can you show me the right way,
Can you show me how to fake it,
And make you smile today.
I just love the glow of your face,
I just love the way the world stands in place,
Spinning around the sun,
And our time has just begun.

Has the world gone mad,
Because it's written in the stars.
My heart has become sad,
I can no longer hide the scars.
Temptaion is running rampant,
Right before our eyes.
The disease of humanity,
Will be our demise.

The time has come at last,
To make our final stand.
We all must stand fast,
Standing hand in hand.
The war with destroy us all,
But it must not destroy our hearts.
The ashes fall down,
And cover the ground.

All the world is not a stage,
our lives are not a play.
There are no prescripted lines,
And our future we can change.
We must all take this moment,
To change the way we think.
We can all find refuge,
There is no need for a tank.

Wayne O'Brien

I grew up in a trailer park in fairly rough town and saw drugs and many many gangs everyday. I was introduced to drugs death and street life at an early age while blessed/cursed with vivid dreams, many have come to pass. After the suicide of my first girlfriend I became addicted to cocaine and free-base and experimented with many other drugs. I quit those on Sept. 12 2001 (my senior year in high school) and have been clean sense(woot) and found God several years later. Many of my poem are a direct honest account of my past, although there are some poems of mine here that are actually songs I wrote. I can be blunt and honest, so that's all I'm saying here for now. read my poetry and songs and tell me what you think. Be blunt and honest like me :) more…
