She was to me, my muse
With a rhythmic swing like salsa
With a soulfulness like blues

I gazed upon her in wonder
with hopes our eyes would meet
as I yearned to earn her chorus
as I yearned to dance her beat

Her voice was so melodious
the sound of gently falling rain
with such beauty at its crescendo
I thought I'd never hear the like again

No words between us were needed
No sounds could quantify the feel
Of her lips to my lips, the soft soft touch
A lovers bond and seal

I'd write for her a sonnet
A verse, a poem, a song
Because she created for me such passion
As to carry my soul along
