Sewer-Prize!

When he shuts off his power
and drains all his plumbing
They won't be safe in saying,
“Well, we just didn't see it coming…”
Here's a man who's wished for death
as far back as memory suggests
Been called every Name in the Book
and then some
made up new Ones
just for his mutant-*ss, I guess

See the scars and sores all up and down his back?
That's how they mark the devil-born
That's the way that Gods and Lovers attack
…to be bull-whipped
and crucified upside-down
so that his evil Head splatters,
shatters when he's driven,
transfixed into the hallowed Ground

three iron ingots
nailed into his wrists and his feet
let the Lamb come
bathe in his Blood
in the Victory dance
that follows Defeat…
When he shuts off his headlights
and stays in the driverside seat
but leaves the garaged car running

They'll be sorrowed to say
in the cold chorus of practiced dismay
“Wish we could have done something…”
