Selfes

I have an image for you to see
But that image is not really me.
Showing your self, as you want to be,
As you would like others to see.

Illusions of illusions, we are lost in confusion.
Hiding who we are, near and far, fearing what
We may really be. A snapshot mimic, you know
It's just a gimmick, while the real self is just an absentee.

We have now become photo shop masters as
We master our disasters and lose who we are.
See me but don't feel me and never look to close.
I fear if you do you will think that I'm gross.

We have been marketed a lie, to lie to our selves;
Our insecure egos and to every one else.
Wake up from this dream and glory in who you are.
Do not settle for a sales pitch but shoot for the stars.
