Self Destruction

There is an excitement in self destruction.
The enticement of an unknown path.
Heading away from the known path of living.
To a tranquil garden of peace.
I don't know how to tell you to avoid it.
I travel that path frequently.
We all follow it to some extent.
By drinking too much.
Driving to fast.
Overeating.
Smoking.
Drugs.
Sex.
There are many places it can take us.
Some, leading farther down.
Some, leading to help.
I don't know where the next turn will lead.
I don't know how to help us any more.
This is just an observation, not a solution.
It is all I can offer at this time.
